BARDOLINO, THE CITY OF BENCHES

A stroll through Bardolino is fun especially in the evening. Along the lakeside boulevard one finds many benches made of various forms and materials: stone, wood, old style and modern ones. It is strange to see so many in such a small town, and this makes the place feel so welcoming.

Bardolino also boasted a famous past. In the year 807 its name appeared for the first time in a document of King Pipino (son of Charlemagne). But the great protagonist of the city’s chronicles has always been its wine. Bardolino, in fact, light and full of brio, of the unmistakable ruby red colour, together with Amarone, Recioto, Soave and Valpolicella, has become a wine that is renowned the world over, not only identifying the Veneto region, but representing Italy itself.
